The Home
Home is a Lincoln Log cabin nestled in the forest. It was completed in 2005 and is decorated with comfortable
mountain style furnishings. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths and a large loft/game room with plenty to keep the
kids busy. The great room is open to the kitchen and dining room, which has a table to seat 8. The house is
easily heated with central heat and a propane fireplace. It is a warm and cozy place to sit and watch it snow or
relax after a day on the slopes. There is a large garage/basement with inside access. The roads are plowed by
the county and the driveway by a private plow service, which makes the cabin easily accessible in any weather.
The Neighborhood
Located in the small development of Serene Lakes in Soda Springs, California, on Donner Summit. There is a
nice lodge with a dining room and bar/lounge meals. Soda Springs has a general store, two small cafes, post
office and several ski/board rental shops. Truckee is 15 minutes, and offers supermarkets and many
restaurants. North Shore Lake Tahoe is another 15 to 20 minutes from Truckee and crosses into Nevada and
the casinos. The nearest airport is in Reno, Nevada, about 45 minutes.
Serene Lakes offers the perfect combination of a quiet, get-away-from-the-tourists-and-traffic vacation spot, with
all the activities and amenities nearby.

small family oriented resorts that include a tubing hill for the kids. Squaw Valley, site of the 1960 Winter
Olympics, and Northstar at Tahoe are less than a 30 minute drive.
Nearby Truckee and Donner State Memorial Park and Museum offer winter activities, including an outdoor ice
rink and snowshoe excursions for the whole family. Historic downtown Truckee has many quaint shops for a very
